Urban redevelopment of San Rocco square and corte Sant'Ilario

The project involves the redevelopment of two areas located in the urban center of Gorizia currently used as parking lots.
The first square is located in Borgo San Rocco, an ancient rural neighborhood in the city of Gorizia; the second is located in Corte Sant'Ilario, the place that houses the city's cathedral.
The project of Piazza San Rocco redesigns the space of the square by highlighting the perspective axis with the church as its focal point and by re-stitching the square to the churchyard through a careful choice of flooring materials, thus defining a single space. The project also intervenes on the roads: Verniero, Parcar, Lunga and dei Lantieri defining new pedestrian paths and a new vegetation arrangement.
In Corte Sant'Ilario, starting from the redesign of the road, we defined the area of the square which houses a cool urban grove and a fountain. To connect the municipal park to the top of the hill, where the city castle is located, there is a pedestrian path along which seats and new ornamental lighting have been placed.
